Deep Thoughts

In case you didn't notice, I've got Deep Thoughts on my sidebar. If you watched SNL int he 90's, you know what I'm talking about. You either love them, or you REALLY don't. Well, if you do find them humorous, you'll really love the new one I put up - it's always been one of my favorites. I don't know about eveyone else but I can always use a good laugh. Later!

Ava loves her Daddy.

So far, Ava has been a Momma's Girl. I guess most babie are when they're little. Every morning one of us brings Ava into our bed when she wakes up around 6:30 or so. Then every time I walk out of the bedroom, to go to the bathroom or to get her a bottle or whatever, she starts crying and saying "mamamamama". But this morning, Tommy brought her into the bedroom and then when he got up to go into the bathroom, The Little Chicken, (that's what Olivia calls Ava) started crying! Tommy was so friggin' happy, even if he tried to pretend he didn't care. I thought it was cute until she didn't cry when I left the room. So of course I had to test her. The second time I left the room she did the "mamamama" so I was happy. I know that's twisted, to hope that your child will cry, but whatever. And now, speaking of the little chicken, I have to go because she keeps biting me on the leg. I swear, it's like having a wild animal in the house. She's a lunatic.

Tommy's Green Thumb

I'm so glad Tommy has a green thumb, because I certainly don't. Well, that's not entirely true. I'm sure my thumbs are green enough, I just can't seem to remember to water anything. Tommy is constantly reminding me to "please water the plants babe" every morning before he goes to work. Even after that I still forget - A LOT! The pic on the left is from our side yard. It looks better when the roses are blooming, but whatever. Either way, hes got it looking way better than I ever could. I'm not saying that I don't help, but he's really got to spell it out for me. I know what I like, I just don't know where to put it. I guess Tommy gets this eye for plants from his mom...they have plants, trees, bushes, you name it, all over the place at their house. My mom won't even take a plant from us, she's too afraid of killing it. I just thought I'd brag on my husband a little, he works really hard on the yard and he's got it looking especially good this year. Now if I can just get my patio furniture and tell my neighbor to shut his grimy dogs up so we can go outside and enjoy it all!

La Cucaracha

O.K., so Tommy's sister's family went on a cruise to Mexico last week (we got to dog sit the chihuahua's - BIG FUN!) and they brought back sombreros and maracas for Olly and Ava. We were cracking up at Ava wearing her little sombrero. I can't believe that she kept it on as long as she did. Olly has been at her Dad's this weekend, so I have yet to get a pic of hers. Of course Ava thought the maracas were a big round chew toy. Normally I wouldn't mind, but I'm thinking they're not especially picky about what goes into the maraca paint...especially in Mexico, so we gave her something else to chew on. I swear, she's just like Sunny from Lemony Snicket. In case
you haven't seen or read it, the kid bites any and everything...that's Ava. Olly always cracks up every time we reminise (spelling?) on Sunny hanging from the kitchen table top by her teeth. If you haven't read those books, they really are funny. Anyway...I thought these pictures were
pretty funny, even if they aren't very PC. Oh well.

Ava loves her vegetables.

This post isn't really about vegetables, but she was holding a piece of celery, so whatever. I just thought these pictures were so cute. Ava is such a character and she's always making some weird little face or letting out a blood curdling scream. I don't have anything interesting to say, I just wanted to share the latest pictures of Miss Ava. So, that's all.

They're baaack!

Our birds are back! Last year, we had a pair of swallows
start a nest on our back porch. (Well, actually it was
3 swallows, but their alternative lifestyle is none of my business). Tommy said they pair up like that sometimes
so they have more parents to hunt for their babies. Good thing too, because last year they had 5 chicks. Well, a few weeks ago they started building another nest and then a few days ago, the eggs hatched. Once again, they had 5 babies. Hopefully they'll all make it. For some reason, their are only two parents this year. I wonder what happened to the third one. Anyway, they are driving the dog crazy and leaving a pile of bird dung all over the porch underneath the nest. All I hear is the tweet tweet tweeting of birds all day since the nest is right outside the living room. They look almost grown by now, so I think they'll be leaving the nest soon. I won't miss the tweeting, but it is pretty cool having our own little science project right outside the back door.

Oink

This is Ava's pig face. It looks more like her impression of Chucky on film (as you can see), but we call it her pig face. Lately, whenever she gets excited, she squinches up her nose and snorts like a pig. It's super cute, not that you can tell from the scary picture, but trust me...it's cute. Tommy is much better than me at getting a picture at the right moment, and (amazingly) he was able to capture the infamous "pig face". We think it's histerical every time she does it. I can't imagine what strangers think when they hear us call our sweet litle baby "pig face", but that's what we say every time she does it, and she has done it A LOT. Oh well. I think pig face has lost it's luster for Ava though, because it's really been few and far between lately. At least we've got some good evidence to humiliate her with when she's older. Maybe she's a child prodigy and this is just the first of her animal impressions. Probably not... But that would be our luck, huh? We'd get the child prodigy who's talent was doing impressions...of barnyard animals. Aren't kids fun? And so weird. Laters.

oink oink!

Yea! It's my first-ever blog!

O.K., so I'm new to this blog thing. I think my page is looking O.K., so I guess I"ll leave it alone for now and start blogging! Well, maybe. I'm really bad about keeping this stuff up, but maybe this time will be different.
